cancer – day 99

I had THE nicest lunch with my old friends from San Jose today! They were going to Oregon to visit some other friends and go wine-tasting, and when they saw that I needed babysitters this weekend while Mark and Brian are gone, they offered to visit me today. Actually, Denise offered to drive up by herself on Friday night to make me dinner Friday night and stay at her sister’s then come make me breakfast and take care of me Saturday until Jim and Mary and Howard got here and then they could stop in again Monday on their way back, to make sure I was still doing ok. I continue to be just dumbfounded by the unbelievable kindness in people and how much they’re willing to do to help me, how much they’re volunteering of themselves for me. I mean, come on, they live in San Jose for goodness sake, they certainly don’t have to drive out to Sacramento to help out this weekend, but here they are. And tonight I have another Bay Area babysitter, Mike, coming out from Castro Valley (near San Jose) JUST to visit with me. Unbelievable. I don’t even know how to thank people for so much kindness.
