Science of Reality: Daily Reflections

This session focuses on seven phrases—you could call them sutras or mantras—to reflect on. Over time they will begin to change your reality of everyday experience. Why are these seven words important? Well, they actually come from ancient times, attributed to great seers, sages, rishis. Most of them are anonymous—they were detached from their ego minds and their identity was the source of the seven phrases, or sutras. Sutra, in Sanskrit, means suture, stitch. It is an intention that embodies a whole context (story, relationship, etc.).

Sutras are aphorisms that have some meaning, and mantras are similar. Mantras are vehicles of the mind to take you beyond the mind, into the source of the mind, the source of thought, which is pure consciousness.

Reality as awareness never changes, only reality in these expressions changes.

The basis of every mantra is that your identity is not local, but rather non-local. Your true identity is not form and phenomena, but the formless infinite that experiences itself as form and phenomena. And because that infinite being is all possibility, full of synchronicity and spontaneously creative, then if you can remember to shift your provisional identity to you real identity, that’s all you need to do.

Here are the mantras and their general principles:

First Mantra (Sunday): aham brahmasmi

(ah-hum brah-mahs-mee)
You are a ripple in the fabric of the cosmos.

Monday Mantra: tat tvam asi

(taht t’vahm ah-see)

(saht chit ah-nan-dah)
Master your inner dialogue.

Wednesday Mantra: sankalpa

(sahn kal-pah)
Intent weaves the tapestry of the universe.

Thursday Mantra: moksha

(moke-sha)
