Cielem’el Meaning

Cielem’el means “the sky’s the limit,” and is a philosophy of life as well as an organization dedicated to empowering and inspiring people facing life-threatening and emotionally destructive challenges.

Linguistically, “Cielem’el” is composed of three key elements:

  • ciel ~ French for sky; from the Latin caelum, used by the Romans
    to refer to the earth’s sky and to the heavens
  • em ~ a kind of roof
  • el ~ elevation, especially elevation of a celestial object

Therefore, “Cielem’el” has several possible linguistic interpretations, including:

  • the top of the sky or heavens
  • the high roof of the sky
  • the sky is the ceiling
  • the far reaches of the heavens

Colloquially, Cielem’el means “they sky’s the limit,” with a connotation of reaching beyond the sky, beyond  the heavens, beyond any concept of limitation.
