cancer – day 96: Cynthia-sitters needed

OK all you Sacramento-based Cynthia-sitter wanna-be’s, here’s your first big chance to put your feet where your e-mail is!
=D

Mark (my primary caregiver, as I’m sure everyone knows) is leaving town tomorrow afternoon after my day 10 blood draw. He’s going to gone from Thursday afternoon through Monday night. My secondary caregiver, Brian, is also going to be out of town this weekend, Friday through Sunday afternoon.

So!!! I’m at a pretty good point in the chemo cycle in terms of being able to take care of myself, but day 10 through 14 of the chemo cycle is when my immune system is weakest, so Mark and I would both feel better while he’s in Phoenix knowing there are some people stopping in to check on me or that I’ll be spending some time with this weekend so I’m not alone at Rusty’s house the whole time. Just in case, ya know? (Wow, I am totally the Queen of the Run-On Sentence, sheesh!)

I know several people have sent me e-mails previously offering time to hang out with me during chemo when Mark has other commitments or we just need a break, and I’ll go back through my inbox to find those e-mails if I can, but if you are someone who has a little free time this weekend and would like to hang out a while, have a lunch or a dinner or a simple cup of tea, or if you have time to stop by the house (@ 55th & H) sometime this weekend to check in on me, please do let me know via e-mail (preferably soon of course, Heaven-forbid I plan anything too far in advance during chemo, eh?).

If you would like to be a volunteer Cynthia-sitter or do a drive-by this weekend, please send me a note at dance@cielemel.com.

Thanks!!!

P.S. If you have even the slightest hint of a summer cold, that does unfortunately disqualify you from being an active participant in the Cynthia-sitters weekend. It’s really important that I not get too close to anyone who is sick this weekend. Sorry.
🙁
