cancer – day 814
I’m reading a blog by Steve Pavlina. His ideas and areas of interest are related to mine, and I’m thinking about how I may have a fulfilling life doing what I love. I’ve been frustrated at work. More than frustrated. I’ve felt my role squashed down into a mindless administrator constantly buried in tasks to make other people’s plans happen.
I have been so frustrated with work that I have actually wished I would have cancer again so I wouldn’t have to work. Talk about a low point!
Today I had a different realization though. I want to be in a position where I can be improving and expanding what we do. In order for me to have time to do that, we have to hire an administrator to do all the admin work.
I was ready to tell Matt he needs to hire an administrator soon before I have a nervous breakdown, but now I have both sides of the story to tell him. We need an administrator to manage renewals, invoicing, data collection, new member orientation, and archive contracts. The other reason we need this person is so that I can do what I want to do, which is improve what we do and how we do it.
But back to Steve Pavlina’s blog. He’s doing this 30-day inspiration trial where he is only and immediately acting upon inspiration. Neat sounding idea.
Also on his website, Steve has a lot of other articles for personal development or personal growth, I forget which. And he has more practical articles too, like how to make money with your blog. That was what got me reading him at first. Because I would love to just roam around writing.
If I were to convert my website to a blog site, what kind of topics would I write on, and what general themes and areas of interest does that all percolate up to?
Some topics:
Surviving, how to be a survivor, what makes you a survivor
Self-improvement, interactions with others, relationships
Spirituality?
Having a positive impact on the world . . .
