cancer – day 81
A new day. Sometimes it seems like a new day will never come. But it did.
This new day brought mutual apologies and some new planning, and things were pretty much smoothed over very nicely. I had one more night at home with the cats and ended up working until 9PM on a presentation I would have given last week but now Gary and John are going to present in my place (we’re assuming that two days after chemo I’m not going to be up to presenting and answering questions), so I needed to get the slides done tonight so I can go over them with Gary in the morning. Tomorrow is my last regular working day for the next three months. We’re hoping I’ll be able to work on at least a rotating schedule that cycles with the chemo treatments. The third week of each cycle is supposed to be recovery and lots of cancer patients are able to work that week, so that’s what we’re hoping for. Chris says I’m not going to feel like working at all, not even during the recovery week, but we’re going to see how I’m doing and hope for the best.
