cancer – day 782
I’m working my bum off, getting up at 3AM in order to have conference calls with India and make sure we stayed on track for the release. I worked all last weekend too, but at least it looks like we’ll actually make the release date now. Last weekend it was looking impossible with the problems they had had on the modeling and given the amount of testing and work that still had to be done.
But I don’t want to think about work, let alone write about it.
I’ve been in Manila, Utah at the Flaming Gorge canyon for more than a week now. I have to get home by July 3rd for a family reunion in Nebraska, and since our release is scheduled for July 2 (Friday), I knew I needed to make some progress on the drive before things got so intense with work that I couldn’t do any driving. So I actually started out on this trip over a week ago. I took this loop down from Wyoming because I didn’t want to spend the night at an RV park right on the freeway like so many of them are, and I ended up in Manila.
I actually have been working every waking moment since I got here more than a week ago. Except for last night, I took two hours off and drove Rubi into the canyon. I did a little off-road Jeeping, which was fun, and I saw some amazing views of Flaming Gorge. But that was my only break, and tomorrow will of course be an insanely busy day much like today was.
Tonight I’m making the short drive up to Green River and maybe get a little more east along 80 so I’m closer to home. I have to get to eastern Nebraska by Saturday, and that’s about twelve hours drive from here, so if I’m going to make the family reunion, I have to get some of the driving in tonight.
