cancer – day 181

I saw the radiation oncologist, Dr. Ryu, after my radiation session today. She’s doing weekly breast exams, and then that changes to monthly (I think?) after radiation, for the first year or something like that. The other thing during radiation is having blood draws every three weeks, and then I’ll probably have my port taken out right after radiation. I want to have the surgery to have it removed in this calendar year, before my deductible starts over again with my insurance January 1st. No matter how fatigued I get from radiation. 🙂

The good news from Dr. Ryu today was that the MRI they did on Monday was completely clean, no indication of any new tumors. It would have been pretty freaky to have heard any other kind of result on the MRI, so I guess I was expecting it to be completely clean. I’ll probably always have that general expectation, since they got the entirety of the two tumors out, the lymphs they removed were node negative, and I’m doing everything I can (chemo, radiation, hormone therapy, some alternative medicine, etc.) to prevent a recurrence. There’s no reason to expect a recurrence, when I’m in my “thinking positive” mindset.
