cancer – day 31

Now this is annoying, I definitely have a cold. Since Wednesday I’ve been feeling dehydrated and tired, and yesterday I started to cough, and now today we’re in full-fledged want-to-stay-in-bed-all-day sick mode. Thankfully it’s Memorial Day, and Chain has a holiday today. So I did sleep in, and, after a couple errands with Mark and picking up Rusty at the airport, I did lie down again and try to rest a little. Now I have another 30 minutes or so to try to rest before we go to some tango barbeque party Mark committed to. Man, Sacramento is a busy place!

. . . After another 30 minutes of trying to get my energy up to go to the barbeque, I decided it wouldn’t be a good decisions for my health to go, and so I stayed in bed all evening except to have a little dinner with Rusty and Mark. I rested again after dinner and we played some computer games. Very low key.

My stress level has been rising a little today, and now tonight I’m really noticing it. The medical oncologist appointment is tomorrow. This is the guy who’s going to determine what my chemotherapy will be. But I have no idea what the appointment tomorrow will be for. I tried to ask Thayer if this guy Soe would already have my chemo plan prepared when I came in, but he said probably not. Turns out the guy didn’t even have my chart then, but I imagine he’ll have that by tomorrow.

Ach. If I’m this wiped out by a little cold, what is chemo going to do to me?
