cancer – day 367

I didn’t end up going to Sacramento. I got all ready, did all the makeup and stuff, and was about to put my dress on, but couldn’t talk myself into it. I just didn’t want to leave home. I haven’t had a quiet non-work weekend at home in so long, and I have to go to Sac the next two weekends and then I have just one weekend at home before Fresno and then going to visit my parents, then I have to go to Chicago . . . my life is somewhat becoming what it used to be, generally hectic.

I did get to listen to a lot of Jane Austen though. I went for a little walk to try out my feet, so I listened on my headphones then, and while grilling dinner. And then, instead of watching a movie like I would normally do on a quiet weekend night, I listened to the book while I was online playing WoW. Why we didn’t think of books on CD when my eyesight went during chemo I don’t know, but I’m really enjoying them now.

I tried to play the game (World of Warcraft) with my old horde buddies this afternoon, but it’s been several weeks since we played and we kept getting killed in this dungeon we weren’t really ready for and didn’t have the right tools for, so we quit early. I logged in as my alliance mage last night and went through Scarlet Monastery a couple of times with Kyle (my old college friend) and three more times with Ken (my new game friend in Utah, an old buddy of Kyle’s). Those guys are just nuts, I can’t believe how well they know the game and can round up 30 or 50 bad guys to demolish them all in one spot. We got my character up two levels last night, and found her some good mage gear. I still have to shake my head at myself and this gaming thing, I never would have thought I’d get into it but somehow I have. It will be interesting to see if I do it much when my neuropathy is better though, or if I’ll get back to my old way of life and dancing as my primary hobby and pastime. Not that we have any idea when the neuropathy may get better so that I can actually enjoy dancing again.
