cancer – day 215
Hmm, so what’s going on today. Well, there’s the usual side effects and stuff everyone knows all about, so nothing interesting there. I saw the radiation oncologist yesterday and she said I’m taking really good care of my skin (in terms of the radiation burn). The skin’s burned, has sores, and is peeling, but apparently it could be a whole lot worse! I’m hopeful that it doesn’t get much worse. Only two weeks left, after all.
I made a comment to her about the fatigue and told her about how tired I was Monday after running an errand on the way home from radiation and she was all like, yeah, that’s totally normal, you pretty much just have to deal with it, take naps as often as you need to, and don’t expect it start improving until about three weeks after radiation. Which would work out perfect since I’m going back to work January 5th regardless.
We were going to drive to San Francisco to go dancing tonight, but the friend that was going to ride with us flaked and then Mark flaked because of the rain and how bad he thinks traffic is going to be. So we’re staying in to play World of Warcraft instead. It’s a really addictive game. I actually have made a point with myself of NOT playing during the day at all, it’s just a nights/weekend thing when we play. We only play once or twice a week, and if this were eight months ago those nights would be spent dancing, but gaming is much easier on my hands and feet so it’s not too hard to talk me into playing the game instead of going out. 🙂
