cancer – day 115
Ach, there are all these events coming up that require more driving and I’m dying to go home and here I get so carsick it’s pathetic. At least it’s better when I drive myself, because I drive really slow and go on the gas really gradually and really coast into the stops, and I pull over a lot to let other people pass me. No sudden jerking movements makes the car more tolerable, that’s for sure. I’m on so much medication, though, I really, really should not be behind the wheel of a car. I went to a fish store and then thought I’d go visit the cats after, but I ended up getting lost in the freeway network and got totally confused about where I was or where I thought I was going. They even have a term for this kind of confusion in chemo patients, it’s called “chemo brain.” I ended up taking some other freeway to come in form the other direction to another fish store closer to the house, and got another head scarf at the store next door. Mark was texting where the heck did I go (I should have been back already), then asked me to pick something up at the store for him. And I knew my way home from this place really well, so no worries about me possibly getting lost on the way home. Actually, no real worries about me getting lost period, thanks to the gps in my blackberry. But, SHEESH! I should not be driving.
