cancer – day 114

Anyone see that beautiful huge orange moon on the horizon tonight? Mark got back from picking up Rusty at the airport and took me in the back yard to show me this huge orange moon. Beautiful.

It was of course just a beautiful moment, in and of itself. Before Mark had to leave for the airport, we’d been sitting together on a lounge chair on the back patio, just looking up at the wind blowing in the trees trying to huff up a storm (yeah, right, like there’d ever be an actual STORM in Sacramento) and we were just enjoying a few moments together. Talking a little, but really just being there together. I honestly got lost in that moment and managed to forget for a little while all the life stuff and complications and big issues we’re facing together right now. Maybe that was how I was able to forget, because we are facing everything together now, we’ve settled into that shared rhythm, a place where we’re sharing it all, good and bad, cancer and life, and every day we get a little bit better at it, a little more settled into it. More and more . . . well . . . together.
