cancer – day 97
Wow, did I freak out today. I had a call from my insurance company, who told me that they’re going to pay the minimum $20/week in short term disability, on the assumption that I’d get the maximum allowance from the state, which means I’ll have something like 1/3 of my income on STD. I had planned out my finances expecting to have 60%, so getting this information suddenly after I’m already in chemo and supposedly “on” disability was shocking, and really destroyed my morning. yes, thankfully I have savings to get me through if necessary, but still. I don’t mean to blog about money, but it was such a shock, it was pretty much the only thing I thought about today. Well, that, and then sitting at the infusion center for 90 minutes for the blood draw (uck, I hate blood since the motorcycle wreck), and then having Mark leave for Phoenix (I wonder if he’ll catch up on my blog while he’s gone? I don’t think he’s had time to read it in a long time).
Overall, not a great day. But I survived it. One day at a time.
