Vegetarian Diet – Day 20

I’m still a vegetarian!
So after five days at Mom and Dad’s, I’m still eating a vegetarian diet. I did have some difficulties this week though.
On my drive from Las Vegas to Yankton (South Dakota, where my parents live) I didn’t eat well. I finished off what fruit I had, but I also ate some junk food, chips or something, and a slice of pizza from a truck stop, and I didn’t sleep well Saturday night or Sunday for that matter. I finally got to their house late Monday night after working all day in western Nebraska and then driving straight through. Come Tuesday morning I had zero energy for getting up when my alarm went off at 4:20AM. That had been fine for the two weeks in Vegas after CGW, but now I was on Central Time, two hours ahead, and it felt like I was getting up at 2:20AM Pacific. I dragged all day, went to bed early, dragged all the next day, went to bed even earlier, dragged all the next day, went to bed even earlier, and finally on Friday woke up with my alarm and energized doing my meditations and Rune journaling, though I never could focus on my Chain work that day. Oh well. Do some catch up work this weekend, it’ll be fine.
Not that I want to work this weekend.  🙂
But the first few days here, my energy was unbelievably low. Vibration-raising meditations didn’t help, caffeine didn’t help. And besides having no energy the first few days here, I was also sick to my stomach. I was eating what I usually eat here, a slice of toast with peanut butter sometime in the morning, a sandwich and/or chips at lunch, an actually we went out to dinner twice and I had pasta, which was too heavy and too, I don’t know, buttery or oily or something. And I decided on Wednesday that my diet wasn’t helping, and though I think the best thing would be to do another fixed-period raw diet, I knew that would be too hard on Mom because she likes to cook, so I just vowed to only eat fruit during the day, which could help.
It did, I think. No I have a banana in the morning, and grapes for lunch, and then at dinner I eat a side salad and whatever veggies Mom made to go with whatever the main dish is (it’s always a meat). So she still gets to cook, Dad still gets to eat, we still have dinner as a family, and I’m still a vegetarian. it’s day 20 now, looks like I’m going to make it through my 30-day trial no problem.
As to whether or not I’ll stick to it indefinitely, we’ll see. It’s awfully tempting to let my dad make a steak for my birthday and eat turkey with my family for Christmas, then go back to a vegetarian diet in January. Or better yet, a combo diet of 2/3 raw (daytime) and the vegetarian thing in the evening. I had the most energy and felt the healthiest on the raw diet.
